Soma Snakeoil
Founder
Soma Snakeoil is Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Sidewalk Project, a street-based harm reduction organization with chapters in other cities, including a mobile SSP in Skid Row. She is an artist, activist, Dominatrix and playwright.
Soma’s passion for the houseless community comes from lived experience as a long-term former PWUD, being unhoused, and almost 18 years of the spectrum of sex work, including survival sex.

Stacey Dee
Co-Founder
Stacey is a member of the band Bad Cop/ Bad Cop and administrative leader in the Sidewalk Project. Stacey Dee conspired with Soma and Emily to create the Sidewalk Project out of a need to contribute to her community. Stacey speaks openly about how she went through some very difficult times in her life with poverty, drug use, trauma and overcoming cancer. Stacey’s message is based in positivity and self care. She often talks about how the words we say to ourselves matter, and changing our personal narrative to the life we want to live. She is committed to sharing how she overcame her personal trials in the hopes of inspiring others to live enriched, fulfilling lives. She advocates for eating good food, saying kind words to ourselves, yoga and meditation and smelling flowers.
Emily T. Nielsen
Co-Founder
Emily is a surfer, inspired fashion designer and art manager. Emily is a former drug user, was unhoused, and is a survivor of cancer. She lives each day to the fullest as she came close to death several times. She’s a California girl at heart from the beaches of San Diego. The Sidewalk Project is her way to give back to the streets she once lived on, through art and music and anything they can dream of.
She is a lover of punk rock music and art and creating anything we wish. Emily is the founder of the art collective Punk Rock & Paintbrushes and cancer foundation ROCK VS CANCER. Emily is a creative thinker and doesn’t allow obstacles to get in her way. If she wants to make something happen, she does it.
